For the project with Felipe Cohen and Wagner Malta Tavares, Cavalo received the prize of best stand from the ‘New Entries’ sector at Artissima Art Fair 2016.
The Owenscorp Prize is awarded to a recently established gallery participating in the New Entries section to recognise its commitment to seeking new talents.

Vijai Patchineelam, alongside Dora Longo Bahia, is the winner of ZUM/IMS 2016 Photography Grant, for his project Sambashiva – As Fotografias de Sambasiva Rao Patchineelam,: research project of the photographic archieve of the cientist Sambasiva Rao Patchineelam, aiming at an artist publication that discusses issues such as the autorship, the edition and the appropriation of images.

It’s happening between June 11 to August 07 2016 at Sesc Bom Retiro the exhibition “Geometria Afetiva”, with works from Felipe Cohen, Marina Weffort and Wagner Malta Tavares.

The solo project of artist Felipe Cohen exhibited at Kubikgallery’s stand is the winner of illysustainArt Prize at ARCOmadrid 2016. The jury is made of João Fernandes, subdirector of Conservation, Investigation and Difusion of Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Adriano Pedrosa, artistic director of MASP (Museum of Art from São Paulo) and Carlo Bach, artistic director of illycaffè, and is presented by Carlos Urroz, director of ARCOmadrid.

Cavalo’s artists Adriano Motta and Felipe Cohen are among the ones nominated for the 7th edition of PIPA Prize, the most prominent Brazilian award in the Visual Arts.

Marina Weffort  participates in the exhibition ‘Em Espera’, with the curatorship of Douglas de Freitas, on February 17th at 7pm, at Murillo La Greca Museum, Recife (Brazil)
